The workshop lies close to the Nieuwmarkt. This is a nice square, with in the middle of it one of the medieval gates to the city, the Sint Antoniespoort, that was build in 1488. It is now called ‘de Waag’ because in 1617 it was converted to a civic weighing-house for excisable merchant-goods.
